Last journal entry for the year.

I’m so grateful to have become a part of this IG community and appreciative of the friends I’ve met through it. It’s so nice to have an online home that’s free of drama and negativity. I don’t really do resolutions, but if I did, mine for next year would be to crawl out of my hole and attend more pen-related social gatherings. So, see you out there!

Catching up on correspondence with one of my favorite nibs, a @nibgrinder Blade Turk. The ink is Kobe n°52, a beautiful surprise of a color.

I sometimes think I could use more variety in my collection, but I like the shapes I like. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Radical acceptance is sometimes just the thing.

Ink is @kwz.ink Maroon #1, which is such a lovely ink: gravitas hinting at an underlying penchant for mischief.

Good reminder.

Cursive practice with some Rilke. I was inspired by a recent exchange with @mightierthan to break out my trusty Safari and am reminded of how solid and reliable this pen. Ink is Diamine Evergreen, which is also quite nice.

Uncanny valley. Is Piano Mahogany a brown? A red? A purple? Yes.

Inspired by @reachingralph to try this one again. It’s elusiveness is giving me pause. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Plan B.

Side note: MB Saint-Exupéry is really, really nice.

Time for plan B.

I got the Nanami Café Note thinking that I would use it as a Hobo replacement, but I can’t get past the layout of the pages. So, I think it’s going to become a running ink log. My #currentlyinked, much to my shame…

Most days, Sailor’s H-MF is my favorite stock nib. Paired with Doyou, it’s pure bliss. 👍🏼

Spending some quiet time with a couple of my most treasured objects: my PG Realo and my celadon gaiwan (made by the amazing Xu De Jia).

Happy Thusday 🙄

Tried to capture the subtle differences between Doujima, Baikocha, Rikyu-cha, and Cigar.
